Research Master Epidemiology

The two-year Research Master’s degree program “Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology” trains students in conducting and interpreting epidemiological studies. The program focuses on psychosocial factors in the development, progress and treatment of chronic diseases. The programme is one of the University of Groningen ’s ‘Top Master’ programs, which means that strict application criteria apply.

The main aim of taking the Research Master’s degree is to obtain excellent qualifications so as to be accepted as a PhD student in epidemiology at any university worldwide. Without further training in a PhD project, the MSc will result in the qualifications required for positions in public or private organizations in the area of clinical research, such as the Ministry of Health, the Netherlands Organization for Health Research and Development, health insurance companies, municipal health services, and others.
