It’s never easy to find the right translation for a university or educational term. The University of Groningen Terminology Database is designed to help you to find the correct translation quickly.
The database contains translations of the terms that are used within the University of Groningen in the field of education and HRM, supplemented by general educational terms. The Board of the University of Groningen determines the standards and translations used within the University. All terms in the database will be clearly marked so that users can see at a glance whether a term has been authorized by the Board of the University or comes from another reliable source.
The database is an expanded version of the list of educational terms built up over several years by the University Translation and Correction Service (UVC), supplemented by several other lists of educational terminology. We would like to express our gratitude to the compilers of these lists for their willingness to share their terminology and their enthusiasm for the project.
The database is not an exhaustive dictionary but rather a useful list for everyone who regularly needs to translate university or educational terminology. The aim is that the database will continue to develop and contribute to the consistent translation of educational and HRM terminology within the University of Groningen.
