To complement our language courses, the Language Centre also offers courses on intercultural communication and competence.
Group Courses
Do you work with students or colleagues from different countries? Do you sometimes feel your message does not come across the way you intended? Would you like to communicate effectively in intercultural situations?
Communicating across cultures can sometimes be confusing and difficult. The workshop ‘Intercultural Communication at Work’ provides a practical approach to dealing with situations in which intercultural communication occurs.
This workshop is aimed at raising your awareness of intercultural communication by connecting theory to your own experiences and practice.
The workshop comprises two 3-hour sessions, with a one-week interval to put theory into practice.
The workshop will be bilingual: in English and Dutch.

trainer/ educational advisor at the ESI (Educational, Support & Innovation) Department of the University of Groningen.

Tailor-made Courses
We also offer tailor-made courses that are adapted to cater to your individual needs. This could for example include specific information on how to deal with one target culture (China, USA, Arabian countries, etc.) if your employees are working in international cooperations, or if you are considering moving abroad as an expatriate. Another possibility is a course for foreign employees which familiarizes them with the Dutch working culture. Our intercultural training courses can also be combined with language lessons. Your tailor-made course can start as soon as the offer is accepted and we have received the completed confirmation form. The starting date, days and times of the course will be tailored to your needs.
