Step 3: Registration


After you have received the official Decree of Admission, you need to finalize your official registration as a student at the University of Groningen. Registration for a degree programme starting in September is possible from 1 June.

  • You will receive an email requesting you to complete section 7: Payment details in Studielink. Here you indicate how you are going to pay your tuition fee.
  • You will receive a photo registration form with the request to complete it and return it as soon as possible. The photograph is needed for you University of Groningen student ID.
    In some cases the photo registration form is not sent to you but to the Faculty Admissions Office. They will then take care of completing it and contact you when necessary.

  • After you have paid your tuition fee and have returned the photo registration form, the University of Groningen will provide you with your student ID and statement of registration.

Please note that after 1 June, when your admission procedure has not been completed and you have therefore not yet finalized your registration, Studielink may send you messages to let you know that certain steps in your admission and registration procedure are not yet completed. Please ignore these messages and follow the instructions from the University of Groningen.

Refund of the application fee for students of the Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences

In case you applied for a programme of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, completion of the registration process means you will receive a refund of the application fee.
