While you are at university, you may incur study delay through extraordinary circumstances such as family issues (force majeure), being a member of a committee or consultative body or by playing sport at a high level. This may result in you exceeding the time available to you for student finance from DUO. Under certain conditions, therefore, you may apply for financial support from the Graduation Fund.

Extraordinary circumstances, including family issues (force majeure)
The most important condition for eligibility for financial support from the Graduation Fund is that you report your extraordinary circumstances to your study advisor or one of the student counsellors of the Student Service Centre (SSC) in good time.

Committee grants and grants for top athletes
Committee members and top athletes do not have to report their study delay to the study advisor or a student counsellor. However, if you also suffer study delay as a result of force majeure during your top sport year or committee year, you must report this immediately to your study advisor!

Please read the information carefully, as the Graduation Fund Regulations are strictly applied and deadlines in particular are very important.
