Psychological problems

Study problems are often rooted in psychological problems. Depression, for example, often results in concentration problems and anxiety, which can hinder your exam results.

There are a number of things you can do:

  • About 600 students per year consult the student psychologists to discuss these and other matters. Visit their website for more information.
  • If you suffer from fear of failure and/or tension problems, the Fear of Failure and Study Stress course of the Centre for Study Support and Academic Skills may help you.
  • If you would like to study together with a fellow student, the Humanitas 'Studiemaatjes' project (website in Dutch only) might be just the thing for you.
  • Digital information about studying with psychiatric problems can be found on the 'Begeleid leren' (supported education) website.

It is very important to consult your study advisor and/or student counsellor in good time if your psychological problems result in study delay!
