Studying with a disability

These pages contain important information about problems you may encounter in your studies as a consequence of a mental or physical disability. If you have such a disability, your studies may take more time and require greater effort but this need not bar you from completing a degree programme. The University of Groningen has developed various schemes and facilities for students with a disability, for example:

  • supervision by your study advisor and student counsellor
  • help of a student psychologist
  • courses organized by the Student Service Centre
  • extended exam time
  • financial support from the Graduation Fund
  • financial support from the Emergency Fund

If you need additional facilities, please contact the study advisor of your department or a student counsellor of the Student Service Centre. These are also the people to contact if you are having problems with your studies but cannot pinpoint the cause. They will be happy to help and advise you in any way they can.

Other menu options include a step-by-step plan for arranging special teaching facilities and a list of useful addresses.
