Tuition fees

You must pay tuition fees if you want to study at the University of Groningen. The amount of money depens among other things on your degree programme, your age and your country of origin. You find more information about the tuition fees in the menu on the left.

When must I pay my tuition fees?

Students who wish to be enrolled as of 1 September must have statisfied all registration requirements by 1 September, i.e., you have finished your registration or reregistration via Studielink and you have paid your tuition fees or arranged payment by direct debit mandate.

Students who register during the academic year pay a proportionate amount of the full tuition fees: 1/12 for every month remaining in the academic year.

Register in time!

Make sure that you register in time! Not registering in time will have consequences for your student grant, travel card, computer account and access to the University Library and other University facilities.

For more information about sources of finance, financial aid in the event of extraordinary circumstances and other relevant topics go to Money matters.
