Deregistration

Graduation does not mean automatic deregistration. You must deregister yourself! If you deregister, you may be entitled to reimbursement of part of the tuition fees you have paid. However, there are several conditions.

  • If your degree certificate is dated June or July, reimbursement is not possible. The last two months of the academic year (July and August) do not count in the reimbursement of tuition fees.
  • If you are registered as an external student (extraneus), you are not entitled to reimbursement.

What to do?

A request to deregister and have part of your tuition fees reimbursed can only be submitted via Studielink. Registration is terminated from the first of the month after the month in which you passed the examination (i.e., the date on your degree certificate). For every whole month that you are no longer registered, you will be reimbursed one-tenth of the tuition fees you have paid.

Administrative processing period

Bear in mind that there is an administrative processing period of at least two months. If you pay your tuition fees in instalments, this may mean that your account will be debited for two more months. T hese amounts will of course be included in the total amount to be reimbursed.

Deregister in time!

A request for deregistration and reimbursement of tuition fees that is submitted too late will not be processed. The request must be submitted during the academic year in question.
