Curriculum Vitae

 

After spending some time in countries including Belgium, France and (last 8 years) in the United Kingdom, Xavier joined the University of Groningen in the Summer 2010, at the time Spain won the Final of the World Cup held in South Africa!

 

Xavier is Doctor (PhD) in Psychological Sciences by the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol; Sport & Exercise Psychology) by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and registred sportpsycholoog VSPN ® (teaching and research) by the Dutch Society of Sport Psychology (VSPN). Xavier possesses psychology and sport psychology degrees and has international (UK, Belgium, France, Spain) and multidisciplinary (psychology, sport sciences) experience in Higher Education (lecturer, researcher) and the sport arena (psychology services delivery).

 

Xavier is the Secretary General of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC; 2011-15); previously, he was in its Managing Council as regular member (2007-11). In addition, Xavier was in the Managing Council of the European Network of Young Specialists in Sport Psychology (ENYSSP; 2003-2011); he had been its first President (2003-07). Today, Xavier is also full member of: Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology of British Psychological Society (DSEP), British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), French Society of Sport Psychology (SFPS), Catalan Association of Sport Psychology (ACPE), and Dutch Society of Sport Psychology (VSPN). Lastly, he is also an  Associate Member of the Kurt Lewin Institute (KLI) in The Netherlands.
