How do people form impressions of others and how do people expect to be perceived by other people? What consequences does this have for how people feel, think and behave in social interaction? These are two main questions in my research. I examine these questions in different areas. For example, I study to what extent meta-stereotypes (i.e., stereotypes people expect that the outgroup has of their group) will influence emotions, cognitions, and behavior. Further, I study the influence of (expected) evaluation, social rejection, intergroup conflict, and power relations on (meta-)perception of people and groups. I'm interested in humility and humiliation in interpersonal and intergroup relations. Moreover, I examine charisma and minority influence.
