Curriculum Vitae


 

Bert P.M. Creemers currently Professor Emeritus and Honorary Professor in Educational Sciences especially Educational  Effectiveness at System level at the University of Groningen. Till September 2007 he was Professor in Educational Science, including Comparative Education and Educational Research and the Dean of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Before he was appointed as Dean of the Faculty (September 2002) he acted since 1977 as Director of the Institute of Educational Research (GION/RION). After his retirement he acted as temporary director of the Center for Teaching and Learning(UOCG) of the University of Groningen.

He is a member of national and international research organizations and founding and corresponding editor of School Effectiveness and School Improvement, and of Educational research and Evaluation. Furthermore, he is a member of the editorial board of other scientific and professional journals.

Bert Creemers has been involved as researcher and/or as an advisor in the development of education in the Netherlands and the impact of these reforms. He is invited frequently as expert on education, and especially educational research and evaluation in many countries.

His main interest as becomes apparent from numerous articles and books are research of educational effectiveness at different levels of the system en the research and evaluation of school improvement efforts.
