The academic heritage of Groningen

The department Special Collections of the University of Groningen Library holds thousands of manuscripts, incunables, geographic maps and special prints.
The University Museum posesses an impressive range of objects: works of art, specimens, portraits of professors and scientific instruments.
Large parts of the academic heritage collections are digitised and accessible online through Digital collections.
In Academic collections, you can search the collections of nine universities, among them the collection of the University Museum in Groningen.
Additionally, we would like to point to the Catalogus Professorum Academiae Groninganae with biographic and iconographic information about professors at the University of Groningen since 1614, and our very first library catalogue, the Syllabus Librorum Academicorum dating from 1619.
Finally, the University Museum hosts some older collections, some of which are accessible online: the ethnological, anatomical and medical heritage collections.
