GRIP Policy on Research Data Management

Within GRIP research data needs to be properly archived for purposes of both verification (safeguarding scientific integrity) and safekeeping of valuable datasets for re-use. The GRIP Research Data Management Plan (RDMP) is based on university and FSE policy and sets out how every scientist within GRIP must deal with research data during the research and once the research project has been completed. Every GRIP researcher (Master’s student, PhD candidate, postdoc and permanent staff) are obliged to fill out a PDMP for each research project he/she is involved in and will do this before the actual start of the project. The template for the GRIP DMP has to be filled via a web tool which can be accessed via https://rdmp.webhosting.rug.nl (use Chrome or Firefox only). A checklist providing the most important questions to be answered in the PDMP, accompanies most sections.

The filled plan is then:

  • Saved and uploaded via the web tool, or
  • Saved, printed and attached to the master thesis for Master students

To fill the DMP please also read:

  • the GRIP policy document on research data management (link)
  • a short manual on how to use the webtool (link)

The Research Data Office of our university also has a webpage with more information (and short instruction video's) on the webtool.
