About the Graduate School

The Graduate School of Science and Engineering (GSSE) offers PhD training across a broad array of scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. PhD projects are imbedded in research institutes, where students receive individually-supervised research training of the highest standard. Renowned scientists supervise your research and help you develop into a fully-fledged scientist ready to succeed in academia or elsewhere. After finishing our PhD programme you will already have a number of publications to your name and an internationally appreciated PhD degree

The GSSE community is truly international. All aspects of PhD training are in English, and more than 50% of our 800+ PhD students come from countries outside the Netherlands.
