Update: Actuele cijfers aangeboren aandoeningen

Ieder jaar presenteert Eurocat de meest actuele cijfers over aangeboren aandoeningen in Noord Nederland. Vanaf 2014 worden de actuele cijfers en ook de toelichting daarop gepresenteerd in het Engels.

Eurocat annually presents a report of congenital anomalies in the Northern Netherlands. Monitoring the prevalence of congenital anomalies is aimed at detection of unexpected frequencies as soon as possible. The short report focusses on the last 10 years, although the Eurocat registry spans more than 30 years, starting in 1981. Since then, more than 15.000 pregnancies and children with congenital anomalies have been registered. The average prevalence is 2,8%.

The report shows not only prevalence data and timetrends but also data on prenatal screening (in cooperation with Stichting Prenatale Screening Noordoost Nederland, SPSNN) and termination of pregnancy because of a fetal anomaly. Also new this year is a chapter on use of teratogene medication during pregnancy.
