A s part of the research project ‘Korean Climate Change policy – economic,legal and political perspectives of linking’ Dr. Hyngna Oh (Kyung Hee University) and Dr Eunjung Kim (Korean LegislationResearch Institute) present on the Korean Emissions Trading System,prospects of linking Emissions Trading Systems and renewable energy issues.
Dr. Hyungna Oh is Associate Professor at the College of International Studies, Kyung Hee University, and an expert in climatechange, applied microeconomics and game theory. Dr. Hyngna studied at Korea University and r eceived her PhD from Cornell University. She served as Fellow at the Korea Development Institute (KDI) and as Assistant Professor of Economics at West Virginia University. Dr. Oh assisted the Korean Ministry of strategy and Finance (MOSF) to design a carbon cap and trad e system for Korea (K-ETS) and to host the Green Climate Fund. S h e w as the principal investigator of research projects to stipulate the Enforcement Act of the Emmission Trading System and the 1st Master Plan of the K-ETS . Dr. Oh currently services as a member of the Allocation Committee for the K-ETS. She is currently collaborating with MOSF to make a long-run climate change strategy in Korea.
Dr . Eunjung Kim is a research fellow at the Korean Legislation Research Institute (KLRI) analyzing legislative proposals and conducting studies on behalf of the Government and Parliament. Before joiningKLRI Dr. Kim held positions at the Ministry of Justiceand at her alma mater Sungkyunkwan University. She is an expert on Energy Law and Emissions Trading as well as Economic Law and has extensively workedon Linking of Emissions Trading Systems.
