CRASIS: Culture, Religion and Society in Graeco-Roman Antiquity

CRASIS is an interfaculty research institute dedicated to the study of Graeco-Roman Antiquity at the University of Groningen. We aim to advance interdisciplinary study of the interplay between culture, religion and society in the ancient world.

Our activities focus on Greek and Roman cultures as well as early Judaism and Christianity and other minority cultures that were part of the classical Graeco-Roman world. Here you can find the programme of our monthly Ancient World Seminar. Proposals for the 2015 Annual Meeting and Masterclass can now be submitted! See the Call for Papers for more information

CRASIS is a partnership between the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and receives funding from the Groningen Research Institute for the Study of Culture (ICOG) and the Centre for Religious Studies (CRS).
