After competing my LLB at the University of Groningen, I was convinced of the high quality of education and research that exists in this institution. The LLM in International Business Law came as the best combination to study due to my previous bachelors in both law and economics. I am particularly interested in competition law and arbitration and this programme offered me deep knowledge in these fields both due to the curriculum as well as extra-curricular opportunities. Likewise, having highly trained professors and renowned practitioners to teach is a precious asset. Nevertheless, this LLM gave me the chance to attend the world's most famous Commercial Arbitration Moot Court as part of the RUG's team and this for me was the best law experience I have ever had. I have also chosen to finalize my masters with an exchange semester in Canada at the prestigious University of McGill, so once more the opportunities that this masters offers are without borders and during this programme you really get the chance to approach the business legal field from comparative perspectives.

What I find particulary enjoyable at our Faculty of Law is the space and opportunities it offers to students to develop as well-rounded individuals. The temptations to do more and to achieve more are strong. You will find yourself in a friendly small scale master class which encourages interaction and team work. You will also find yourself able to debate on hot topics and think outside of the box. But foremost, you will find yourself in this cozy and vibrant student city which will make your student experience an unforgettable one. This small city thinks global and you will feel the concern about world issues in little details (bio-cafes, shops, fair trade events, symposiums and guest lectures on migration topics and many more). I became a more globally aware person by living here and interacting with people from all over the world.

I am thankful for my academic experience and if I were to choose again, I would go for the University of Groningen Faculty of Law every single time. I feel prepared in terms of the knowledge I have gained, the network I created, and the tolerance and international experience I have to apply for any big corporation, international organization or international law firm, and to pursue a successful career.
