SYMPOSIA AND COLLOQUIA


 

HEYMANS SYMPOSIUM

 

The Heymans Symposium, where either highly acclaimed international scholars and/or members of the Heymans Institute give an invited lecture, is held every year

During the symposium the Snijders-Kouwer Award  is granted to the best international scientific article of a PhD student of the Heymans Institute, who has published the most innovative and outstanding scientific journal article.  The past years, the following individuals have received the Snijders-Kouwer Award ( see this link  [PDF]).

In 2011 the Snijders-Kouwer Award was given to T.M. (Thecla) Brakel for the article  ' Impact of social comparison on cancer survivors’ quality of life: An experimental field study' accepted for publication by 'Health Psychology' (see this link for the abstract online). She is a PhD student with prof. dr. A. (Arie) Dijkstra en prof. dr. A.P. Buunk.

 

 

 

 

  

The prize for best poster presented was awarded to J. (Jana) NiemannHer poster is entitled ' Negative Feedback and Learning – A Multilevel Study on the Role of Directness and Distrust' (follow this link [PDF] to view it). Her promotor is dr. N.W. van Yperen.

HEYMANS COLLOQUIA

 

The Heymans Institute (HI) encourages researchers to give a colloquium. In a Heymans Colloquium a Dutch or foreign researcher gives a lecture about their research. All Heymans Colloquia are given in the English language.
