Welcome to the University of Groningen

The University of Groningen is proud of the increasing numbers of international staff. The University currently employs 5,500 staff members of whom more than 1,200 are from abroad.

Staff and their partners from abroad can use our special troubleshooting service. The aim is to help you with all sorts of questions you might have about finding your way around the University, the city of Groningen and living in the Netherlands.

If you need advice or help on these subjects, you can use this service by sending an e-mail to staff@rug.nl.

• Network meetings that give new international staff and their partners the opportunity to meet other people from abroad
• A buddy service, where you can be set up with a buddy or enlist as a buddy for someone else
• Partner support
• You can take the National Examination Dutch as a Second Language, should you want to remain in the Netherlands permenantly
