The Nieuwenhuis Institute encompasses all reseach in the field of pedagogics and education. As such this relates to research in the domains of pedagogics, special needs education and care, education, and adult education. 
  
GION, Groningen Institute for Educational Research, is the institute were both applied (i.e. based on contracts) and fundamental research into education is conducted.
