Jephta de Visser new University Poet
Jephta de Visser (21) is the new University Poet. In the jury’s opinion, the third-year History student has her own voice and an eye for catchy details. When she was 17, she won first prize in the national poetry competition for secondary school pupils, Doe Maar Dicht Maar. For four years not a single verse escaped her pen, but inspired by the elections for the new University Poet she put her best foot forward and produced no fewer than five poems for assessment. They did the trick.
