New Unifocus: Efficient platic solar cells; the meaning of heroes; a hanging garden for the library

The new Unifocus, the video magazine of the University of Groningen, is online. In this week's edition:

  • Efficient plastic solar cells. Jan Anton Koster wants to improve the output of plastic solar cells. He has been awarded a prestigious Vidi grant to conduct research on the subject for five years.
  • The meaning of heroes. Joanne van der Woude (Rosalind Franklin Fellow) has been awarded a Vidi grant to study what the political use of heroes is and how heroes are portrayed in early American English, Spanish and Nahuatl poetry.
  • A hanging garden. Three students won the Green Mind Award with a plan to make a hanging garden and a roof garden for the University Library.

Each episode of the biweekly online video magazine Unifocus includes three items related to the University of Groningen, in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
