National Student Survey results: University of Groningen student satisfaction grows
Student satisfaction with the University of Groningen has increased slightly over the last year. This is revealed by the results of the 2014 Dutch National Student Survey (NSE: Nationale Studenten Enquête).
Compared with 2013, satisfaction has increased on virtually all fronts. On a scale of 1 to 5, the respondents awarded their degree programmes a 3.97 (score in 2013: 3.95). Satisfaction with the content of the programme increased from 3.93 to 3.96. In response to the statement ‘would you recommend your degree programme to friends, family or colleagues’, the University of Groningen scored 4.19. This score is also higher than last year’s (4.16).
Happy with environment and accommodation
Students not only assessed their degree programme but also the study environment (4.29) and accommodation. What is remarkable is that satisfaction with the availability of accommodation has increased significantly from 3.55 last year to 3.7 in 2014.
Preparation for professional careers could be improved
Students are less satisfied with the preparation for professional careers (overall score of 3.03). This has increased slightly, however, and has passed the threshold of 3.0 for the first time.
