Arno van der Vlist

Arno van der Vlist (1971) is hoogleraar Vastgoedontwikkeling aan de Faculteit Ruimtelijke Wetenschappen. Hij studeerde agrarische economie in Wageningen en promoveerde in 2001 in de economische wetenschappen aan de Vrije Universiteit. Van der Vlist werkte daarna onder meer in de vastgoedwereld en aan de universiteit van Wageningen.

Vastgoedkunde aan de Faculteit Ruimtelijke Wetenschappen richt zich op vastgoedontwikkeling vanuit ruimtelijk perspectief. De RUG heeft hiermee een unieke positie binnen onderwijs en onderzoek naar vastgoed in Nederland. De huidige praktijk van vastgoedontwikkeling is veelal gericht op het ontwikkelen van concepten en het optimaliseren van het ontwikkelproces. Vanuit economisch gedachtegoed is vastgoedontwikkeling nog veel aanbodgestuurd. Van der Vlist, gespecialiseerd in ruimtelijk economisch onderzoek, doet onderzoek naar meer vraaggestuurde ontwikkeling.
