Teaching and examinations are based on the higher Education Act (WHW). According to this law the board of the faculty has established, with consent of the faculty council, for each degree course
Teaching and Examination Regulations (OER).
In the Teaching and Examination Regulation the course programme is defined as well as a number of measures that effect the way the course programme is implemented.
There are separate Teaching and Examination Regulations for the bachelor degree courses and for the master degree courses. Each of these is updated annually.
Separate from these Teaching and Examination Regulations there exist
Rules and Regulations of the Board of Examiners
, in which measures are regulated that concern the way the assessment on examinations is implemented.
In case of disagreement with decisions of an examiner or of the Board of Examiners students can call upon a
Board of Appeal for the Examinations (CBE)
