Prof. dr. R. Hanson, Delft University of Technology: Quantum computing and quantum networks with spins in diamondRoster
AbstractQuantum entanglement- the property that particles share a common state even when separated by a large distance- was heavily debated during most of the previous century. More recently, entanglement was recognized as a powerful resource that enables realizing tasks in information processing and communication that are classically impossible. Diamond has recently emerged a unique platform for quantum information processing [1]. We can now image, control and read out the spin state of single electrons and nuclei in diamond [2,3]. In this talk I will explain how we do this, and describe our most recent experiments towards quantum information processing indiamond, including the creation of highly entangled states by measurement and the execution of a small quantum algorithm.
