Abstract
European synchrotron large scale facilities have identified, over the last ten years or so, the strong potential provided by utilizing the infrared light emitted in these centers (
UK
,
Italy
,
France
,
Germany
, and soon
Spain
). If infrared is well known and used in chemistry , the production of highly focused beam has identified a new view and need in biomedical approaches. It is surprising to witness the recent impact in several diseases diagnosis. Besides, Cultural Heritage and Archeology –related sciences are an important research field in
Europe
. Identification, understanding of ancient instrument makers, conservation recipe have found a new tool in the infrared light production from synchrotron radiation .The contribution of synchrotron infrared in Science and Societal problems will be discussed together with the relevant and newest achievements.
