Abstract
Ordinary aqueous foam provides a prototype for the general study of soft matter. It displays interesting structures, one of which has been used in the Beijing Olympics. As interest moves from static properties towards dynamics, current research is focussed on rheology, particularly shear localization and the significance of the Herschel-Bulkley relation.
