Abstract
This presentation will sketch past progress and explore future directions in the atomic-scale structure determination of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures.
Highlighted will be Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Low-Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED). Both of these techniques are capable of detailed atomic-scale structure determination of nano-structures, by comparison between experiment and theoretical simulation. Their application will be illustrated for buckyballs adsorbed on Cu(111).
