Understand the language of the work floor

Graduates of the programme understand the language of the work floor and during your studies you learn how to make the theoretical issues concrete. You're trained to search for solutions to problems and to improve processes.

During the Master's phase you're thrown into the deep end almost immediately, and you're expected to try to resolve business issues together with your fellow students. After I graduate I'd really like to work in the business world. Graduates understand the language of the work floor and during your studies you learn how to make the theoretical issues concrete. You're trained to search for solutions to problems and to improve processes. I'd really like to use this knowledge within a production company or in consultancy. During my degree I did miss attention to the social side of business life. I gained that experience by being a member of the EBF committees for the Bèta Business Days, for European Study Research and for the day organisation of the Business Congress. I've also travelled a lot and I'm a member of a student society. I think that it's very important for students to develop themselves as individuals alongside their studies.

I particularly liked the international orientation and the support provided by the University.

"After two years of work experience, I decided to continue my studies at the University of Groningen by doing the MSc in TOM, following the advice of a friend who had graduated from the programme. I have always been interested in overseeing, designing and controlling the production process and redesigning business operations. This Master's was therefore an opportunity for me to enhance my knowledge in this area of management and to achieve my career goals. I particularly liked the international orientation and the support provided by the University. Indeed, despite the difficulties of restarting my studies, I found the lecturers and other staff very attentive to the needs of students and always available to give their support. I would advise prospective Master's students to stick with it, not be discouraged by the workload and never forget they are not alone. They can always find helpful support from other students or the lecturer."
