The Center's teaching is based on the philosophy that an understanding of 21st century Japan is crucial for today's students, who are tomorrow's leaders.
The teaching programme in Japanese Studies offers at present several courses that together consitute a minor "Modern Japan" of 20 ECTS. These courses can also be attended as separate courses. The programme can be concluded within one academic year. They are a regional specialisation of 20 ECTS within the minorprogramme of Non-Western Studies (NWS, 30E CTS).
In addition, the Center offers introductory Japanese language courses in co-operation with the Language Center from the RUG.
