Center for Japanese Studies
The Center is explicitly devoted to serving the city of Groningen, the northern Provinces of the Netherlands and the Hanse Euro-region in northwestern Europe. The results of academic teaching and research on the Center's focus points, technology and culture, will be made available to the public and private sector outside the University.
This will be done by:
-
Creating specific 'Executive Courses' about Japan for management personnel in business and government.
-
Giving support to fact-finding missions to Japan from the perspectives of the business community, the city and regional institutions.
-
Offering short courses and lectures for the general public.
-
Offering Japanese language courses.
-
Organizing cultural events (exhibitions, musical presentations, theater productions, films, ikebana, etc.).
