About Dutch Studies


 

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, offers an English taught programme of Dutch Studies, which includes courses in Dutch Literature and History, within a European Perspective. All courses are taught by specialists in the various fields of study.

 

Mission

Introduce foreign students to the Dutch Language, Culture and History through the Dutch Studies Programme. 

Admission and Fees

The Dutch Studies Programme is intended for:

  • Enrolled foreign students who participate in an exchange programme with the University of Groningen. These students do not have to pay any fees for attending Dutch Studies courses.
  • Freemovers and contract students (click here for more information
  • Degree students of the University of Groningen . These students do not have to pay any fees for attending Dutch Studies courses; please know the places in the courses are limited and that degree students will be put on a waiting list if all places are filled by exchange students.

Language of instruction

The language of instruction is English. Participants in the Dutch Studies Programme should therefore have sufficient English reading and writing proficiency. 

The Dutch Studies department does not offer Dutch language courses. If you are interested in taking Dutch language courses, please contact the University´s Language Center.
