Registering for Modules

You may register for modules of semester 1 from 18 July until 21 August. You can be refused admission to a module if you register after the closing date. Admission to modules with limited space is based on registrations received before the closing date.

It is compulsory for all students to register for modules for the entire academic year. This makes the progress of your study more transparent and means the educational organization has the correct information for making the timetables. If you are a propaedeutic student, you do not have to register for the modules of semester 1, this will be done for you. However, propaedeutic students will have to register for other modules and exams.

Registering: Step by step

Choose the modules you want to take from the latest Course Catalogue or from the online course catalogue system (Ocasys). Make a selection of modules equivalent to about 60 ECTS for the coming year. In ProgRESS WWW select, via the button [enrolling], first the faculty, then [ college-intekening/module registration] [P1] and then the correct list of modules. You can register for each module directly from the list. The modules you are registered for are listed on the right-hand side of the screen. If you want more information, click on the name of the module.

To register for modules at other faculties, go to [intekenen RUG/registration - University of Groningen] and select the correct faculty. Take note of the registration periods for each faculty because they may vary from the Faculty of Arts.

Nestor

If you have registered using ProgRESS, the modules will also be added to Nestor. Nestor is the electronic learning environment of the University of Groningen. You can download study material, do assignments, engage in discussion, exchange information and more via the internet.
