The Basic course prepares you for your job as a teacher in secondary education. You will get acquainted with every aspect of the profession so that you are well prepared for your internship in the second year of the programme.
The Basic course (10 credits) is planned, depending on your faculty, in the first or second semester of the first year of the Educational Master. This study component consists of a Preparatory internship (5 credits) and Theoretical support (5 credits).
You will be an intern on a school for secondary education. You will teach 15 to 20 classes of which one series of 6 tot 10 classes is taught independently.
The theoretical support consists of taking courses and reading literature. You will get acquainted with the latest reforms in secondary education and with the changing role of the teacher.
You will finish the Basic course with an assessment, in which it will be determined if you qualify for the demands of the internship.
