Conference shows: joint programs in teacher education possible

The conference Joint Programs in Teacher Education was a great success. Participants from 19 countries throughout Europe discussed the different possibililities for such programs, the challanges and solutions.

Nevertheless the several differences in teacher education throughout Europe, the conference demonstrated that it is possible to design joint programs for teachers, making it possible for future teachers to experience education and teaching practice in different countries.

There are, however, still big challanges. The accreditiation processess in the several countries, the ongoing changes in regulations of higher education and teacher education in several European countries and regulations around exchanges of students makes good work frustrating. It was agreed upon by the participants to address the responsible policity makers to assure that this bureaucracy will not frustrate our work.
