One curriculum domain within teacher education is the general courses, like pedagogy, cognitive and adolescence psychology, general didactics etc. All partners have courses like this in their curriculum. Like for subject didactics, we started with describing the current practice in the participating universities. From there, we derived learning objectives, fitting to the blocks in the curriculum framework. With regard to those learning objectives, partners are free to design the courses as they wish. In this way we want to provoke that the courses will not be uniform, but will differ in culture, pedagogy and philosophy. The courses are comparable, but each partner has its own flavour. Student teachers themselves can choose which flavour they want by choosing for a specific partner.
These courses were part of the pilots of student exchanges in 2009/2010. No changes appeared to be necessary after the pilot.
