EuropeThe University of Groningen is a truly European university at heart, and although we have a global perspective and an academic community that reflects the diversity of the world's population, our international activities in Europe are still the most intensive. We are a member of several European networks, are active in EU exchange programmes, and have a wide variety of joint research and teaching programmes. As it is impossible to be complete, please find a selection of our European activities in the menu on the left
One of the most dynamic in EuropeTrue to its academic roots, the University of Groningen is a pioneer in Europe when it comes to making progress in academic teaching and reseach. Due to its worldwide partners and networks and the active exchange of students and staff, research carried out by the Centre for European Reform proclaimed the University of Groningen as one of the most dynamic in Europe. As the British newspaper The Independent wrote: 'Forty years ago, Dutch universities had no institutional personality. They were parts of the state. They had no capacity to run themselves or set institutional priorities or develop comparitive advantage. But since being given autonomy by the government they have flourished. The universities of Groningen, Leiden and Utrecht are now among the most dymanic in Europe'. Information in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and other languagesThe website of the University of Groningen aims to provide information about the university in as many languages as possible. > read about the University in your language
