About the Organisation

The Computer Science department is divided into two sections: a research institute which concerns itself with the research programmes and an programme institute which handles student affairs.

Research institute

The research institute consists of a research director who is supported by a scientific council and a management team. The Johann Bernoulli Institute is the research institute for Mathematics and Computer Science, and is divided into these two parts. The sections are not separate administrative units, but a cluster of base units, formed around research programmes. More information can be found here.

Educational institute

The educational director is supported by the adjunct-director of Computer Science and the adjunct-director of Artificial Intelligence. Within the institute, these are supported by a number of committees. Important is the Programme Committee (PC), where all disciplines and programmes are represented by teachers and students. The PC, amongst other things, gives advice regarding the education policy. Finally, there is an Exam Committee, which is responsible for regulating examns and approving student programmes. More information can be found here.
