Selection

The Honours College offers programmes for students that are able and willing to excel. For this reason, there will be a selection procedure for students who want to be admitted to the Honours College.

At the end of the first semester of the Bachelor’s programme, it will be determined which students are in the top 10% within their degree programme. These students will be sent a letter with an invitation to apply to be admitted to the Honours programme.

Students who do not fall into the top 10% may also participate in the selection procedure. If the student can convince the Admissions Board on the basis of his or her CV, a motivational letter and if necessary an explanatory meeting that he or she is sufficiently motivated and suitable for the honours path, the committee may decide to admit the student.

In the selection procedure you will be assessed on the following points:

  • your grades obtained so far;
  • your motivation to participate in the Bachelor Honoursprogramme: you are ambitious and willing to excel;
  • the potential to complete the Bachelor Honoursprogramme within the period specified (three years).

When you consider applying for a place at the Honoursprogramme it is important to ask yourself the following questions:

  • am I able to plan realistically;
  • do I have sufficient social skills;
  • how do I cope with deadlines and stress;
  • how are my generic academic skills such as the ability to express myself in written and oral form;
  • am I willing to seek out and expand my own limits and the frontiers of my discipline?
