The starting point for the design of the Honours programme is the slogan ‘to excel at the frontiers of knowledge’. This means that you will be looking for and research the boundaries within your discipline. Furthermore you will be trained as a scientist with the ability to take solid knowledge of his or her own field and use it to solve interdisciplinary questions and problems.

• The Bachelor Honoursprogramme is an extra track of 45 ECTS. You will follow it alongside your regular Bachelor’s degree programme of 180 ECTS.
• This track will start after the first semester of the first year and will comprise both units that deepen (25 ECTS) and units that broaden (20 ECTS) your knowledge.
• The development of academic skills and your personal development will receive a lot of attention during the Bachelor Honoursprogramme.
• The classes of the Honours College will be scheduled in the late afternoon or evening and on Friday afternoons.

Deepening of Knowledge

 In this part you will deepen your knowledge within your own academic discipline.

• You will learn more about the core areas of the field and about current research themes.
• You will be taught how to conduct solid research.
• Each faculty has developed its own in-depth programme on basis of the principles and demands of the Honours College.
• The Faculty of Economics and Business offers an English taught deepening track of the Honours programme.  

Broadening of Knowledge

• two Honours modules outside your own discipline of 5 credits each;
• the Petrus Camper Track (10 credits), this is an interdisciplinary project in which you will apply your knowledge from the two Honours modules.
