Structure and Design of the Master's Honours programme

Design of the Master's Honours programme

The Master's Honours programme is an extra programme of 15 ECTS (credit points). You will follow this programme in addition to your regular Master's programme of 90/120/180 ECTS. The theme of the Master's Honours programme is: 'Leadership: making the difference'. It is a interdisciplinary programme. However the Honours programme is not a course in leadership. What it aims is to introduce you to the various theories and to show you how they work. There will also be the chance to further develop leadership competences. The programme lasts one year and comprises three parts and a personal development programme.

You can start the Honours Master's programme twice a year (in September and in February). You can already apply for the September 2012 stream, the deadline for application is August 20th 2012.

Structure of the Master's Honours programme

The Master's Honours programme consists of four masterclasses, a Leadership lab, a Masterwork and a personal development programme.

Master classes

You will develop knowledge and understanding of various aspects of leadership (how does it work, what works and what doesn't, and why) during four Masterclasses. This will take an interdisciplinary line of approach so that you can also examine leadership from a biological, historical or other perspective.

Leadership lab

During a Leadership lab you will observe, experience and practise a number of leadership skills. The projects teach and show you how the various aspects of leadership work in practice. This is also were you can practise various skills, for example communicating effectively, decision-making, convincing, cooperating. Here, too, the groups will be interdisciplinary.

Master work

The master work is a project where you will demonstrate that you can put the knowledge and skills you have learned into practice by designing and implementing your own project independently. The choice and content of the project can be attuned to your individual plans for the future. It can vary from starting up a business or organizing a conference to implementing a research assignment or doing a research project.

Personal development

Furthermore attention will be paid to personal development and experiences with leadership. You can choose from various workshops.
