The Honours College is for students who:
- want a challenge
- look across frontiers, also their own
- want to get more out of their degree than just a certificate
- has the ambition to excell
- want to develop their talent
- want to make a difference
The qualities we expect from Honours College students are:
- good to very good study results (top 10%)
- a high IQ linked to social skills (EQ) and a high level of self-motivation
- having some personal qualities like being (pro)active, taking initiative, being creative, being original, being innovative, you are independant, you have persistence
- an interest in extra intellectual challenges – both deepening and broadening knowledge
- willingness to develop their talents further by putting in extra effort.
What do we offer the Honours College student:
- Extra deepening in your own field of study
- Broading modules in two other faculties of the University of Groningen
- The Petrus Camper Track, this is an interdisciplinar part of the broadening part of the Honours programme. The Petrus Camper Track excist of 3 components; a content-related knowledge component, a skills component and a personal development component. This to train your academic and personal skills
- The courses given in the Honours College are given by teachers who have excellent teachingskills and combine this with excellent researchresults. Young talented researchers are also involved in the Honours programme
- A place where Honours College students can meet each other, but where they also can meet teachers. There will also be a space where students can study and a space for social activities
- During the programme problems relevant to academia or society will be discussed.
