Organisation and Governance

GSG has a small core staff, a Board of Governors and stakeholders in the university community. Organisationally it is positioned under the Faculty of Arts, together with the staff of the European NOHA Masters Programme.

The GSG director is Prof. dr. Joost Herman, who is also director of NOHA (http://www.rug.nl/staff/j.herman/index) .

The office manager is Mr. Jarno Hoving, who is also NOHA secretary (http://www.rug.nl/staff/j.hoving/index).

Coordination of education, research and public activities is done by Dr. Pieter Boele van Hensbroek (also deputy Director of GSG), who has a part-time appointment in the Faculty of Philosophy as well (http://www.rug.nl/staff/p.boele/index). 

The GSG Board of Governors frames the strategy of the GSG together and supervises the institute on behalf of the Board of the University and the Deans of the nine faculties. The GSG Board consists of:
