Interdisciplinary Center of Psychiatric Epidemiology (ICPE)

http://www.icpe.nl/

The objectives of the research program of the Interdisciplinary Center for Psychiatric Epidemiology (ICPE) are to unravel (i) the etiology of common mental disorders, in particular internalizing disorders, and (ii) their consequences for somatic health and disability throughout life. Specific research themes include questions regarding continuity and discontinuity of mental (ill-) health, the role of person / gene-environment transactions and interactions, and psychopathology-physical health interactions in the context of chronic somatic conditions. To increase cohesion and critical mass, the ICPE recently decided to focus on affective symptoms and disorders and emotion regulation, the latter also in the context of other mental disorders. In addition to these research goals, the ICPE seeks to contribute to postgraduate and postdoctoral education in the context of the graduate schools of BCN and SHARE.
