What is the Research Master in Economics and Business?

LATEST NEWS: From October 1 it is possible to apply through Studielink. Please click here to go to this website directly.

A limited number of scholarships are available for this programme. If you want to apply for one, please send in your application before January 1.

The Research Master Programme is a two-year programme aiming at the best, brightest, and most ambitious students. It is run by the graduate school SOM. The aim of the programme is to qualify students to do research in Economics and/or Business. There is a strong focus on scientific and academic skills. Graduates are ideally placed to become a PhD student or to obtain a research position in a public or private organization.

The Research Master Programme is selective. Only the most outstanding students are admitted. Only the most outstanding researchers are teaching, both from Groningen and, through our participation in national and international networks, from outside Groningen.

The programme is taught entirely in English. We have an international student body, with roughly half of the students from outside the Netherlands, and roughly one quarter from outside the EU. A limited number of scholarships are available. The small scale of the programme ensures an intensive exchange of knowledge, both between lecturers and students and among students themselves. Each student is individually supervised by a renowned researcher.

The application deadline for this programme is April 15, 2012. If you want to apply for a scholarship as well, the application deadline is January 1, 2012.

On this website you can find more information on the Research Master programme, the set-up of the programme, its focus, the different tracks within the programme, and the application procedure.
