There are various sources available to students wishing to pursue a PhD.
Usually PhD candidates at SOM are considered employees of the University of Groningen and receive a starting salary of approximately 1.900 euro (gross). This salary increases yearly to achieve the final salary of approximately 2300 euro (gross). PhD candidates at SOM are expected to contribute to teaching or research. These occupations generally occupy about 15% of candidate's time, and in no case will it exceed 25% of their time.
SOM also has an increasing number of PhD candidates with a scholarship from another organisation, like the NUFFIC or another university abroad. Admission of these candidates is based on quality of their cv and the research proposal. For further information, contact Rina Koning.
