China Exchange Programme

Since 1992 The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) coordinates the China Exchange Programme (CEP). CEP is a collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

 

The application deadline for financing of joint research projects between the Netherlands and China is 15 September.

 

On the Dutch side an annual budget of EUR 540.000 is available.

 

CEP offers financing possibilities for:

(1) individual exchange of researchers to initiate collaborations

• selected senior researchers receive a travel allowance of € 1.815 to travel to China
• subsistence/accommodation allowances for Chinese researchers to visit the Netherlands
• exchange of researchers is only possible with Chinese institutes resorting under one of the four Chinese counterpart organizations
• no application deadline

(2) joint research projects carried out by a Dutch institution and its Chinese counterpart

• projects will be funded for a maximum of three years with an annual maximum of € 35.000
• eligible costs: subsistence allowance and accommodation costs; travel expenses; material costs; fieldwork expenses
• application deadline 15 September 2011
